I join my family’s social impact activities

Born in the United States, I travelled around dozens of countries and has been mainly educated in Hong Kong. At the tender age of 3, when my fingers first danced across the piano keys, I was drawn to music. By 5, I won my first Trophy in the Asia Piano Open Competition, followed by a Distinction in the ABRSM Grade 8 Piano Exam at 9, and the prestigious Diploma in Music Performance from Trinity College London by 12. Not content to rest, I achieved ABRSM Grade 8 in Cello with Merit in 2023. Presently, I’m proud to perform as a cellist with the Metropolitan Youth Orchestra of Hong Kong.

Beyond the harmonious world of music, I’m captivated by the realm of STEM. Since 7 years old, I discovered a keen interest in math, laboratory science and robotics. Loving to solve math puzzles and challenges, I am a top 5% Worldwide Honoree in the AMC 8 in 2023. As an enthusiastic member of my school’s Robotics Club, I like robotics with practical applications. My team won the Design Award and Teamwork Champion in Hong Kong for the VEX IQ Robotics Competition. Back at home, I assemble mini robots as toys for my younger sister since young, all with readily available components for the China Adolescent Robotics Competition. Additionally, the cutting-edge strides in space travel made by SpaceX etc fuel my ambitions in space engineering. I aspire to leverage my passion for science, technology, and engineering to effect positive change.

I love reading a variety of literacy genres. One of my favorite birthday gifts was a set of Children’s Encyclopedia. Their pages have been my frequent companions. I also enjoy fictions and biographies. Reading brings me to different worlds and times.

Since I was little, my parents brought me along my family’s community services and charity activities. Through those volunteering activities, I came to realize there are many children out there who do not have adequate resources to finish their education or buy necessities. While I have limited power, I’m glad that my volunteering activities go a long way…

Welcome to my World

I started learning and playing music since 3 years ago. Now I perform at the Metropolitan Youth Orchestra of Hong Kong.

Reading brings me to adventures of different worlds and times

Each book transports me to a new adventure, gives me a chance to learn something new, and lets me see the world from a different perspective …

STEM

I was always intrigued with math since I was 6, getting into a CTY course in geometry and spatial sense when I was 8. By 11, I successfully achieved top 5% worldwide in the AMC 8. To solve problems more quickly, I also started learning Python and took the USACO bronze contest. Soon I realized some problems would be inefficient to solve with Python. This led me to learn C++ and take on bigger challenges. Building robots for fun has been my part time hobby…

Community

My family has a tradition of giving for schools, communities and the broader society where we can make some positive impact. I’ve been participating along the way and brought my little sister into action…

Sports

In a world full of distractions, sports remind us the joy of physical activity, the thrill of competition, and the value of sportsmanship.
